Could someone please tell me or direct me to a place where I can find out how to send a private message to another user. Thanks.

To send a private message you should first go to the person's profile page. You can get there by clicking on "more" in the top right of the Spanishdict page, then choosing "users" and doing a search for the person's alias. You can also click directly on the person's alias/picture anywhere you see it on the Spanishdict website. Once at the profile page scroll down and at the bottom of the left hand column that includes basic information about the person you will see a "Send private message" link with the envelope symbol. Click there.

Unfortunately we do not have pop-ups for private messages. You have to go to your page and you will see this:

* Messages (1 unread)

For example.

Please check your box every day.

Click the person's avatar. On their page on the left side is the 'about' section below the about section is 'Send Private Message'. Hope this helps!

I don't see the icon for sending messages. I think because I'm a new user and no reputation still?

I just sent you one. - Goyo, Jan 14, 2010
Thank u Goyo.. I am very pleased.. By the way i found the problem.. This is the warning i get: ""Sorry, but to prevent spam, users need 10 reputation before they are allowed to send private messages."" - llewyn_davis, Jan 14, 2010

Furthermore,, i cannot get myself reputed;; because of the fact that one cannot vote for himself/herself in the answers section.

Thus,, i'll be looking for other ways to get respect..

As i was digging deeper,, i come across this rule stated below:

When you vote for someone else's question or answer,, you earn 1 reputation.

Then,, i tried to vote in order to earn reputation;; but again lucky me,, i am reminded that i cannot have the right to vote on questions and answers unless i reach 15 reputation..

a guideline for newcomers..

Ha! Sorry you had to discover all this so slowly. Hopefully now your reputation is growing and you'll soon be able to send private messages and vote up others answers. - lachelvi, Jan 14, 2010
oh,, thank u lachelvi.. u'll be my first vote.. i was just gonna ask one of the administrators that if i finish all the courses in spanishdict,, will that be sufficient enough for me to pass a test called KPDS?? - llewyn_davis, Jan 15, 2010
and i will be supplying them one example of that test.. - llewyn_davis, Jan 15, 2010

""Sorry, but to prevent spam, users need 10 reputation before they are allowed to send private messages."

well,, thanks to Goyo,, i have found out the problem.. Since i got no reputation (or respect smile ) amongst the spanishdict.com family,, i couldnot send pm's.

Thank you all..
