palabra o vocablo

What is the correct to say "Word" in spanish? I looked it up in the dictionary here and it came up as palabra but my dictionary at home showed it to be vocablo. Can anyone give me some insight?

I'm in Spain and everyone uses palabra for word.

Hi, "Palabra" is the usual term. I hadn´t heard "vocablo" before, but apparently it exists.
