Creo que te refieres a un año. Cuatro movimientos = cuatro estaciones. Doce cimientos = doce meses.
Who is the quick old man, that has four changes put in twelve (something like bases - "chunks"?), that at each passing, gives more pain than happiness.
I know that translation is not right. Any help would be appreciated. I really don't understand the first clause.

I think it's a clock. Because it is divided in twelve (horas). And it gives us more grief than happiness trying to run against it.
