Tú giras a la derecha en la esquina. or Tú gires a la derecha en la esquina.

I've seen the 2nd one in the flashcards, though it does not feel correct. Which one is correct? I think girar is the verb and maybe gire is the noun. Thanks for your responces in advance. cool hmm

You've asked an interesting question.

In the examples you've given, which uses the vocabulary "turn at a corner", you would never say "tú gires", since you are using commands. "Tú gires" wold only be used in a sentence that has two clauses, such as "I demand that you turn..." (Exijo que tú gires...")

In you example, an affirmative command would be "Gira" ("turn") and a negative command would be "No gires" (don't turn).

I hope this has helped.

"Giras" is the indicative, while "gires" is the subjunctive. The subjunctive is used in making recommendations, such as giving directions.

Gires o no gires, la tienda estará cerrado cuando llegues.

Bajes la calle y gires a la izquierda a la esquina.
