Response to ¿Qué tal?

Question

What are some responses people like to use to the question, "¿Qué Tal?"?

I'm familiar with responses to the question "¿Cómo Está?", but I have realised in a causal social setting the former question is a lot more common.

What are your favourite responses to ¿Qué tal?

I often here people say "Aqui estamos..." (literally - We're here) used in the same way as English-speakers might say "Still here" or "just hangin'".

If asking "what's up", I'd probably respond:

Mi presión arterial. ¿Qué pasa contigo? (My blood pressure. What's up with you?)

If asking "how ya doin?", (and if I'm feeling 'blah') I'd probably respond:

Justo a parcialmente nublado. (Fair to partly cloudy)

¿Que tal? es en ingles, "That so? Repuesta usando, Sí o no idea. Que tal? in English is, "That so?" Respond using, Yes or no idea.

yes it DEFINITELY means "what's up"/ "how's it going"/"how are you"....you are translating it literally and in context it does not mean "that so" we use it all the time in my spanish class wiht my spanish teacher - layann, Jan 9, 2010
