Am I saying this sentence the right way?

Am I saying this sentence the right way?

Hi, I am not sure if this sentence is conjugated properly. Can someone tell me if I'm saying it right?

Los lados izquierdo y derecho son de color rojo.

It needs to mean that 'The left and right sides of the flag are the color red.'

Another possibility (to avoide/reduce the repetition) might be "El lado izquierdo y el derecho son de color rojo."

Los lados izquierdo y derecho...

The adjectives (izquerido, derecho) don't show agreement in number with the noun (lados) that they modify.

El lado izquierdo y el lado derecho son de color rojo.

Isn't there a way to say that without having to repeat el lado? - Goyo, Jan 5, 2010
I don't think Spanish does that as much as English, but if so, see June10 answer for the way to do it. I'd repeat it or use " ambos" for clarity. - 0074b507, Jan 5, 2010

Couldn't you say: El lado izquierdo y derecho son de color rojo? I'm not sure, though, anyone feel free to correct me if neccessary. ¡Buena suerte! grin
