How do you say he had been drugged?

I'm trying to say he woke up in the countryside with a terrible headache because he had been drugged, so far I've got 'Se despertó en el campo con un dolor de cabeza terrible porque he estado drugado.' but I don't think that makes sense. :(

If your asking it as a question in your post, it might be something like,
¿que había sido drogado?
