Hi Doriz,

Welcome to the forum!!

According to my boyfriend, a gun-slinger is someone who acts quickly, maybe without thinking. Someone who acts boldly without fear.

Bienvenido al foro. Segun mi compañero, es una persona que actua rapidamente, tal vez sin pensar mucho. Tambien alguien que se atreve mucho sin temor.

Hope to see you again soon! smile

I think the term "gunslinger" today refers to a person that is self-confident and not afraid to face problems head-on. A gunslinger might often approach an obstacle without giving it a lot of thought ahead of time, instead making decisions as needed.

I think being a "gunslinger" could be considered an admirable trait by many.

Bret Favre, quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings in the National Football League is affectionately refered to as a gunslinger.

The terms "gunslinger" and "gunfighter" refer to characters of the American Wild West. Here is an article that provides some background:

Whoever called you a "gunslinger" could mean that s/he thinks you are dangerous, among other things.
