Entiendo la razón por la que estás confundida.
Pero won't no tiene nada que ver con ganar ni perder. Won't es una contracción de "will + not." Se trata del tiempo verbal del futuro.
"I will not go to the hospital" equivale "I won't go to the hospital." En español los dos quieren decir "No iré al hospital."
She won't, he won't, we won't, they won't, I won't, you won't
I liked Dandi's explanation above. It's also helpful to know that in English, the future tense always requires a two-verb construction: I will do it; I won't do it. She will do it; she will not do it. There's no one word future conjugation, as there is in Spanish. Another good contraction for you to know: I'll do it= I will do it= lo haré; he'll do it; we'll do it; they'll do it..
won't = will not
It also is unrelated to "won ton soup" (in Chinese restaurants).
