Si tú te vas, ¿qué será de mí? If you leave, what will become of me?

I think that is an acceptable example in which you don't need to change to the imperfect subjunctive.

I would have thought that the question needed something else, ie, if you go away I would ?????

In this instance I thing it might be as follows

Si tú te fueses yo estaría muy triste.

If it were tú instead of tu, it would be a superfluous subject pronoun, but it wouldn't be grammatically incorrect.

"Si tu te vas" is a phrase. I used Translation for Spanishdict to find Si Tu Te Vas" and I found it does not translate. But si tu vas te... is: if you go you... , and si te vas... is: if you go. "Si Tu Te Vas" es un frase. Usé Traducción de Spanishdict hallar "Si Tu Te Vas" y hallé no lo traduce. Pero si tu vas te es: if you go you... y "si te vas" es: if you go...

Mi repuesta dice más mis preguntas por contestar. My answer gives me more questions to answer.
