is bien venidos one word or two?

It is generally written as one, from what I have seen.

Don't forget, bienvenido is used to welcome people who have come from somewhere else to where you are (whether literally or figuratively)...like welcome to my house, welcome to my city, welcome to my video, welcome to my website, or whatever...although typically you just say "Bienvenido"...they'll know to what you are welcoming them. (But if you want to specify, I think the pattern is bienvenido a mi casa, bienvenido a mi ciudad, etc.)

Bienvenido would not be used as a reply to "thanks"...say "de nada" or "no es nada" for that.

It depends on what you are trying to say, it can be used many way....but

  • For a general salutation, it's one word bienvenido
  • as a noun (the welcome was nice) La bienvenida
  • as adjecttive (they are welcome friends of mine) bienvenido(a)
  • as a verb (they are well received) bien venidos
