Comment Notification
I know this was brought up in another thread saying it would be nice to be informed of any new comments on a post, well it is now happening. I just received an e-mail about a comment to my "Carolinebanto Spamming" thread. Have members been aware of this and if so how long has it been in existance.

I'm glad that they finally added this to the site, but I must say, I posted and answer earlier today and 2 people commented, and I was never notified. I also posted another answer that people commented on, and again, was not notified. Do I have to do something special to get this "comment notification"?
I noticed it some time ago, I even started a thread myself. My thread generated little excitement
Is it just the author of the question that gets notified if comments are added to his thread? or the author of the answer that is commented upon?
It's probably just the author of the post that receives notification, but if you are particularly interested in a thread you can always click on the box within the original post that says "watch this question"
I love it...I always wondered why it didn't do it before. Another great improvement to our community. ![]()
I saw it some time in the past week and do appreciate it. thanks
Thanks Eddy! And Thanks to HLSbookworm! I think she pretty much got this started in her thread: Commenting on Answers/Questions
The first time I saw this was happening was on Wed 12/23. I tried doing a little test right away by posting a comment on some of my own old 'answers' and old 'questions', but didn't get any notifications.
Since then I have received notifications to comments on 'questions' that I have posted. And I have received notifications to comments on 'answers' I posted on someone else's question. I can only guess that whatever programming change was made somehow only applied for threads created on that day and onward. But do I have to 'watch this question' in order to be notified to comments posted to an 'answer' I post to that question? I think so, but I'm not sure.
Either way, its a great feature. I Love It!

I believe it is just the author of the question. Clicking the "watch this question" box will not notify you of a comment.
I noticed this in the past day or two, also. Thank you ¡y muchas gracias!
