Este is the masculine form of the word 'this'. Use it when you are saying "this [noun]" and the noun is masculine.

Esta is the feminine form of the word 'this'. Use it when you are saying "this [noun]" and the noun is feminine.

Esté is a form of the verb estar, or to be. It is the first person and singular third person present subjunctive, as well as the formal singular imperative.
