I am doing a family coat of arms and my motto has to be in the language of my ancestors, which is spanish. My motto is Love, for life is good. The translations i received are:

Al amor por la vida es buena Amar por la vida es buena El amor, la vida es buena

Which one is correct?

"Love, for life is good." - Perhaps an incomplete thought ("... for life is good" said to someone that you address as "Love")

"Love, for life, is good." (two commas) - Love, in general may (or may not) be a good thing but if the object of one's affection is "life", that is a good thing (a worthy love).

"Love for life is good." (no comma) - a) One should love being alive because life is something deserving of love (could be restated as "Love of life is good") or b) Love that lasts for life (lifelong love) is good (in praise of constancy).

Hi kaitlynrice, welcome to SpanishDict.

Could you clarify the motto a little bit? Do you want to say:

Love, for life is good.

meaning: You should love, because life is good.

or: Loving life is good/The love for life is good.

??
