Is this the correct way to write He is in the dog house? I get confused as to where the description of the "house" goes, before or after the noun.

El está en la casa del perro but I am not sure whether they use this expression in spanish it quite probable that they have a different saying to express the same sentiment so if you say this to a spanish speaker they might take it literally and think he has crawled into a dog kennelof course I may be wrong as some of their sayings are the same as ours.

Él está en la casa del perro. I doubt that this would have the same meaning as the idiom does in English. I'm sure Spanish has a similar idiom for stating that someone is "in trouble".

haber caído en desgracia=in the doghouse
