Please translate "copacabana" into English. It is found in the Spanish and Portuguese languages.

"Copacabana" is located at Lago Titicaca and Rio Janeiro, both have waterfronts coincidently. In English, "cabana" is used as an outdoor tent-like structure made of canvass or other light-weight materials for sleeping or changing clothes, usually located near a swimming pool, lakeshore, river front or ocean front.

A Google search yields this result:

There is the belief that the name Copacabana is derived from the Aymara language's words "kota kahuana", meaning "view of the lake."

It also appears from the Google search that the Aymara term pre-dates the Spanish conquest and settlement of the area.

Well, one meaning of copa is tree-tops. So looking at the picture below, can you see a similarity.

That picture is from Copacabana , Alcapulco. Moe's answer seems more plausible. I just pictured a beach covered with cabanas and was thinking of what they would appear like from an airplane.
