My example:

A través del espejo, Alicia se vio a si misma y la Reina Roja hace 10 milliones de años.

Through the looking-glass, Alice saw herself and the Red Queen 10 million years ago.

vio a ella misma... y a la Reina 10 millones (de) años - 0074b507, Dec 18, 2009
But why? 10 days ago is hace 10 días, so 10 million years ago is hace 10 milliones años, right? - Issabela, Dec 18, 2009
curioso, no sé ni cómo lo ha pillado quentin...pero tiene razón, 10M de años - 00494d19, Dec 18, 2009

The human exhibit was always Lucy's favorite.

La exhibición humana siempre era la favorita de Lucy.

(I noticed that favorite is a noun that can be masculine or feminine...does it depend on the thing that is the favorite...or does it vary by region?)

"favorito/a" is an adjective that can be used in place of a noun, and since the noun "exhibición" is feminine, the adjective used needs to be feminine as well. - Issabela, Dec 18, 2009
But, actually, I used it as a noun in this sentence...and the dictionary lists it as noun and as an adjective, but under the noun listing it is shown to be capable of being both masculine and feminine. - webdunce, Dec 18, 2009

Si no fuera por los pulgares oponibles, hijo, nos sería en el otro lado de ese vidrio.

If it wasn't for the opposable thumbs, son, it would be us on the other side of that glass.

(música) Estoy empezando con el hombre en el espejo. Le pregunto a cambiar sus costumbres ... Ningún mensaje podría haber sido más claro, "Si usted quiere hacer del mundo un lugar mejor, Echa un vistazo a ti mismo y hacer que el cambio ..... "

(music) I'm starting with the man in the mirror. I'm asking him to change his ways... No message could have been any clearer, "If you want to make the world a better place, Take a look at yourself and make that....change."
