Here is the story or the meaning of Patas Negras grin

Patas negras.

Patas negras.

Corresponding to the stealth lover of a married woman who schedules his visits sex when the husband is not home. One explanation for this denomination holds that this man be forced to flee quickly to the threat of being discovered by the "cuckold", often not enough to get dressed, putting on socks only, usually obscure. And while escaping from a distance only perceived a male figure with black feet scuttling at full speed

It literally means black potatoes. Is this a dish or a species of potato? I know there are various colored potatoes from Peru. I know of a blue one but not a black one.

¿Tal vez piensas en papás? - Brett1971, Dec 13, 2009
papas/potatoes and the dictionary here defines patas as potatoes too - nizhoni1, Dec 13, 2009
That's an error as far as I can tell. Patatas yes, patas no. Put in potato and flip it around. - Brett1971, Dec 13, 2009
I believe you Brett. I flipped enough potatoes in my restaurant days not to do it now. - nizhoni1, Dec 13, 2009

I would gladly eat a meal of black potatoes and black animal paws with Javiar Bardem.Everyone else could have the finely cured ham as a consolation prize.I just hope he likes big white dogs.

LOL Ja ja ja .... No, it´s not related with "papas" nor "papás" . It is patas (slang for pies). I know this is slang from Chile...

Patas negras = Amante (de una mujer), i.e.: Lover (of a woman)

Why that meaning? That's another story...

Brett is correct I went to WR and found these:

It's a text about Jarvier Bardem, the actor, it doesn't refer to cured ham. I cannot think of an expression in English. De pata negra, as far as the ham is concerned,is a high-quality, expensive ham.

Sí, o first quality, pero si el tema del jamón es importante. Lo mismo Wild boar ham. Or have a look at the translation of his movie "Jamón, Jamón".

I would have never guessed this in a million years. I always learn something when I spend some time here.

The 1st one is sort of cool ---- they are using "de pata negra" to call a actor "a big ham"

Goofy me -- I thought this translated to: "the black paws" or "the black feet" of a animal.

¿El tipo de jamón?

Si eso es, es "Iberico ham," un tipo de "cured ham"
