Well, to show respect say perdone ( excuse me ) then ask for ( comida ) food by saying, de donde es sta ___ ? Some examples of food: pan - bread leche- milk rice- el arroz turkey- el pavo apple- la manzana chicken- el pollo fish- el pescado I think that translates out to "Excuse me, do you know where ____ is? " Or, you can say ¿Me puede dar ______ meaning Can I have some _____ gulp

De donde es sta??? I don't think this works even if you mean to say "De dónde está." - 003487d6, Dec 13, 2009

In restaurants it is common to use the imperfect subjunctive.
Quisiera las fajitas vegetarians. I'd like the vegetarian fajitas.

Quisiera algo de tomar/comer. I'd like something to drink/eat.

You fail to pose a real question. Perhaps "Tengo hambre." or "Da me algo de comer." would suit your purposes.

Maybe tengo hambre was definitely used in the course of discussion in class - j12r, Dec 13, 2009
