HI Span, the difference is tú is a pronoun, and tu is a possessive.

Tu libro es verde.

Tú te llamas Pedro.

Tu is "your." Tu madre, tu corazón, tu guitarra, et cetera. Tú is "you." Tú caminas is "you are walking," Tú y yo is You and I, and things of the like.
