As far as I can tell it means not electroplated with platinum

Platinize = To electroplate with platinum.

Platinize = platinar

Platinado = Participle form

Des = not (more or less)

Then again, this could be totally wrong - it certainly sounds completely crazy! shock raspberry big surprise snake

The word "desplatar" means to separate silver from other substances with which it is mixed.
