That's because there are MANY verbs or adjectives for expressing "he is lying" depending on the context of why he is lying on the floor. He fainted, he was knocked down, he's stretched out in relaxation, He passed out drunk, he stumbled, he's sleeping, he's dead, he's sprawled out, he's curled up, etc.
