We always ask for context when defining words.

If you wish to say "stay in touch" tocar might not be the best verb (adverb).

In fact, it wouldn't be an adverb at all. It would be the object (a noun) of the preposition "in" (with the prepositional phrase being used adverbally). - samdie, Dec 7, 2009
"en contacto" (another noun) would be a better choice. - samdie, Dec 7, 2009

I know how to say "don't touch me" in Spanish but I don't know if that would help....

This is an idiom, which cannot be translated word-for-word. In Spanish, the equivalent is "Estate en contacto." (Imperative case of tú)

As nouns it could be "tacto" (m), toque (m), detalle (m), chorrito (m), contacto (m), etc, etc, hehe. Context would be a great help.
