I have some material that suggest the answer to ¿Hablas español? when I speak a little but understand it better is "Entiendo más de lo que hablo." Is this appropriate or is there a better way to say "I understand better than I speak"?

"Entiendo más de lo que hablo" is a good expression for "I understand better than I speak"...

I think you are in an important stage of learnig a language...

I have had the same situation regarding English. For me, the next stage is to develop the speaking stage with more proficiency ...

Keep it up!

Sound pretty good to me. You can also say "entiendo mejor de lo que hablo".

I say: Sí, hablo español pero no hablo español bien. Si hablas lente, entiendo mucho.

It comes up a lot. raspberry

Not lente. That's a lens. "Lento" or "lentamente". - 00e657d4, Dec 3, 2009
