Welcome to the Forum, alisakpapp! ![]()
You would write it out this way: Jueves, el 7 de enero de 2010
You write 'el 7' because it is 'el día'.
I hope that helps, and we look forward to seeing you around! ![]()

Why don't they use "el (día) jueves" y del (año) 2010.
I'm not entirely sure. In fact would it be correct to say "Hoy es el jueves..."? It doesn't sound right.
I was thinking about the way we could say the date in English: "Today is Thursday, the 7th of January of 2010." We wouldn't say "the Thursday" or "of the 2010." Of course trying to compare it to English may not be the best way to understand it.
Also, I suppose one could say 'of the year 2010', and therefore maybe 'del año 2010' would be correct. But this is way to much info about what may or could be.
Sometimes I just accept things that are because they are. ![]()

you just don't use el when specifying the day of the week in the date. there are a lot of "just because" answers in Spanish I am learning...
My question - would one say "dos mil y diez" or "dos mil diez" for the year 2010?
