The explanation I was given (by someone in Yucatán, Mexico) is somewhere between "high maintenance" and "picky".... A person who likes to have things just so? Someone who might not like roughing it.

Hopefully someone will come along and tell you if I'm wrong, or if it means something different in Guatemala.

Well, he's either calling you a strawberry (literal meaning) or a snob (slang).

Edit

I think, as Valerie says, "high maintenance" is the best translation.

Yeah, I think he really meant I was a snob/high maint. since i was concerned that he has the shakes at 11am from not drinking...go figure. Thank you! - missmaia, Dec 1, 2009

fresa es como las mujeres engreídas quien tiene mucho dinero y amigos. etcetera

y esa frase "¿quiere decir la palabra escuela?" significa "does he/she want to say the word school?"

Hmm I always knew "fresa" to mean "strawberry." But then I typed it into the dictionary, and an alternate meaning is "snob," as in a snobby person.

If your ex is calling you that, I wouldn't talk to him anymore. If someone insults me, I have to reason to talk to them anymore, because they're just being childish. grin

Hope that helps!
