The odd one out - a game

The odd one out - a game

Let's play the odd-one-out game. Write four words and include one which doesn't match the grammar category or the topic. The next person has to point the weirdo, explain why they have chosen this one, and then write their own example. It can enrich our vocabulary.

aperitivo

tapa

barbacoa

tentempié

Issa, tu lista:

gallego y catalán son idiomas reconocidas por España, cantonés es una variedad del chino, creo que no se reconoce como idioma, y el aranés es una variedad del catalán.

Sin embargo, todos se hablan en España menos el cantonés. ¿Esa puede ser?

Not being a science expert I will go out on a limb, but I do not have much confidence in this answer. I will say "blanco" because it is the absence of color.

My words:

acordes

bemol

armonía

suave

hmm. What do you do when you know the answer, but can't explain the reasoning? - - 0074b507, Nov 30, 2009
the exact opposite of what people would think :) - edgedonkey, Nov 30, 2009
I told you I wasn't paying attention in science class! - Nicole-B, Nov 30, 2009
What about my words? - Nicole-B, Nov 30, 2009
suave - because it's an adjective? - Issabela, Nov 30, 2009
No. The other words can be grouped together for a specific reason/topic. - Nicole-B, Nov 30, 2009
There should be at least a few people out there who will recognize these words right away! - Nicole-B, Nov 30, 2009
Hint: It could be considered a gift or hobby. - Nicole-B, Dec 1, 2009
I do have a flashcard set involving these words. - Nicole-B, Dec 1, 2009

Heidita

Gafa is a kind of hook, gafas is a pair of glasses, therefore the odd one out is las gafas because it is the only one that means something different in it's singular form versus it's plural form.

Heidita:

Everything on your list, except for "coches," comes in pairs.

Un par de gafas, un par de zapatos, un par de pendientes.
