I've always thought "se" and "te" means "yourself", in this context.
¿Cómo se llama? = How do you call yourself? (respectful form) ¿Cómo te llama? (familiar form)

"What is your name? = ¿Cuál es su nombre? (respectful form) ¿Cual es tu nombre? (familiar form)

I didn't think ¿Qué? or ¿Cómo? were correct in this context. Cuál usually is used before es and other forms of ser when not seeking a definition.

I'm new to Spanish. Please let me know if this is right.

Cuál is usually used when selecting an item from a group of items. (Which one?) Cuál is correct in ¿Cuál es tu nombre? because Qué would be asking for a definition. Cómo is correct in How are you called (using llamarse) - 0074b507, Jan 16, 2010

(en verbos pronominales): quejarse to complain; se queja de todo « él/ella » he/she complains about everything; « usted » you complain about everything;

"se" is a personal pronoun with, sometimes, goes with "verbos pronominales".

In this instance, "se" means "itself."

"Cómo se llama" means "how does it call itself."
