Viernes negro: ¿Qué compras van a hacer?

¿Qué compras vais a hacer?

(I'm not going to buy anything because this year my family doesn't want gifts. In place of gifts my mother, the head of the family, has requested a great big dinner with all of the family together.

I've very lucky because I'm going to save lots of money!

even though it is not purchased, they should feel very lucky for the great gift that you are bestowing upon them, which is of course You! :) - cheeseisyummy, Nov 27, 2009

Pues no voy a ninguna tienda hoy.

I bought movies for my nephews and nieces, and also books. One nephew, (he is 5), wants to learn spanish, so I bought him spanish things. I hope he likes it, then I can have someone to speak spanish with me! hehe

That's great! Do you know how many Spanish speaking people there are in Orlando? You can practice all day!!! Forget about the parks. - Nicole-B, Nov 27, 2009
Or you can go to Epcot to the Mexico pavilion and practice there as well. - mctague, Nov 27, 2009

I saw in a photo that Issabela posted, a beautiful bikini that I wanted to buy for my little fat granny but they only had it in size XL

Curious, do you use the expression 'my ... granny' as some people use 'my old lady' as in reference to their spouse? - cheeseisyummy, Nov 27, 2009
In England "granny" is an affectionate form of grandmother, - 00f2b5a1, Nov 27, 2009
Ok same here then. Just thought maybe it was a UK term with a different meaning I didn't know about - cheeseisyummy, Nov 27, 2009
We also use the term "my old lady".for spouse. - 00f2b5a1, Nov 27, 2009
I can't believe you deprived us of your humor for 24 hours last week. Don't do it again!!! - Nicole-B, Nov 27, 2009

I am lucky. My husband went shopping with my girls at midnight. I told them to buy me something nice.

It is now 10:31AM and when I woke up, he was shopping again. This is great for me because I am one of those strange women who don't find it fascinating or even enjoyable to go shopping, especially with these crazy crowds!! wink smile I think I'll keep him for another year. LOL LOL
