Could anyone tell me why the hispanic people have so long names?

I wouldn't say that Spanish names are longer or long when compared to names from other cultures.

What you might be refering to is that it is customary in many Spanish countries to include both, the mother and the father's last name to one's name.

For example: Carlos Sebastian Gonzalez Rojas.

Carlos Sebastian would be the name and middle name, Gonzalez would be Carlo's father last name and Rojas would be his mother's last name.

Therefore when Carlos has children, they would get his first last name (Gonzalez) and his wife's first last name whatever that happens to be.
