400 million Spanish speakers

400 million Spanish speakers

I just found out that we are 400 million native Spanish speakers around the world and almost 50 million (12.5%) live in the United States. We might have to wait until the 2010 census to know how many we are total in this country and how many hispanics.

Do any of you could tell me how many native English speakers are there around the world? I think it is around the same amount, 400 million (USA, the United Kingdom and Australia).

Apparently Spanish and English are the equally most spoken languages worldwide, after Mandarin Chinese. smile And that sounds about right to me!

WOW! 400 million! And I'm pretty sure that Spanish is the third most spoken language, after Chinese Mandarin, and of course, English! Do you know how many English speaking people there are worldwide?
