Welcome to the forum!

The present progressive tense is used estar + gerund. A gerund is a verb that is turned into and "ing" word. This is done by adding "ando" for ar verbs and "iendo" for er and ir verbs to the stem.

So if the subject is Javier, then you would say "Javier está escuchando."
