How does one thank people on this site for their help?
Thank you Marianne and Moe. Your answers were most helpful. I've been a sailor for over 30 years so I'm quite familiar with all the terminology in English however, finding translations in Spanish has been a bit of a challenge.

I would also like to thank Marianne and Heidita for their help. Maybe we should start a thank you thread to thank all those helpful people on this site?
A good, hard punch in the face is appropriate. Unless, of course, you're thanking me in which case you should send a check made out to "Jay Sprout." Private message me and I'll send you the address.
Hi NW
One method of thanks if you want to be specific, is by just adding a post to your original question.
I think you just did it.
Actually, all kidding aside, I think it is correct protocol to "vote up" the answer, thus giving reputation points. You can give even more (double) reputation points by marking the answer "best answer" but I don't know how to do that.
Thanks to :
Marianne, Goyo, Moe, Heidita, Eddy, Qfreed, Samdie, Gus, Nicole-Bailey, Nicole-Bailey, Seitheach, Eric-1995, Issabela, Ian-Francis, Zoltán, Aloshek and many of the other regular Spanishdict's contributers, who make spanish seem fun and enjoyable for me and the other humbled learners who, without any advice or guidance from you guys, would be like little lost lambs wandering blindly in the darkness, in the search of knowledge.
For many summers, I was a sailor in Canada's North Channel of Lake Huron. It was good to put my own knowledge to your uses. You are very welcome to the assist.
Just watch out for flukey winds when you're in that gorgeous "wing on wing" sail set.
Best Regards,
Moe
You're very welcome!
