When writing the date in Spanish, the day of the month comes first followed by the month and then the year. You put the word "de" between the day and the month and between the month and the year. For example, if I was taking notes in a class today (even though it's a Saturday ) and I wanted to put today's date in the heading, I would write:
21 de noviembre de 2009
which I would read aloud as:
el veintiuno de noviembre de dos mil nueve
Hope this helps!
