creer with subjunctive
I know that if you say "No creo que" or "No puedo creer que.." you switch to the subjunctive mood, but what if I was telling you not to believe something?
No creas que te diga la verdad.
Don't believe that he's telling you the truth.
Is that correct, or would it just be "te dice" la verdad?

Almost:
No creas que el te diga la verdad.
Roberto, I think your sentence is different from the original one:
Don't believe that he's telling you the truth.
this is what Matador said.
I would translate that in indicative:
No creas que te dice la verdad.
NO creas que te diga la verdad = dont believe he will tell you the truth.
Ah, ya veo que cambié el creas por creo....pero sigo pensando que debe ir en indicativo.
Ok here is my logic:
No creas = Don't you believe
que el te diga la verdad. = that he will tell you the truth.
Which is what I believe was the original question.
Don't believe that he's telling you the truth.
It's different from:
No creo = I don't believe
que él te diga la verdad = that he will tell you the truth.
This second one is different from the original question.
Good question matador![]()
Decrlaring something:
No (te) creas que te dice/te está diciendo la verdad.
Don't trust him, he is not telling the truth.
Doubting;
No creo que te diga la verdad: I don't believe he is going to tell the truth.
I would say:
"No creo que te diga la verdad" or
"No creo que él te diga la verdad"
"No creas" is not correct....
