I am making up my "to do" list for the day.

I like to write the list in spanish for practice.

I am having trouble with the return of an item.

I want to say "Return the wheel chair to the red cross"

I am confused as to how to say return in this context. I have struggled with definitions and translator but I just do not feel good with the answers.

You were right the translator suggests "volver" instead of "devolver". It works pretty good though. - 0068e2f4, Nov 16, 2009
as a general rule of thumb "devolver" is used with the returning or giving back of inanimate objects whereas "volver" is used to describe an actual person or animal returning somewhere - TCUspan, Nov 16, 2009
