Thanksgiving in Spanish speaking countries

I was just curious about Thanksgiving in other countries, specifically Spanish speaking ones. Are there different traditions that they have? Do they even celebrate it at all, since it was started in America? If they do celebrate it, do they celebrate it on the same day?

Thanks! smile

Hey hlsbookworm! You might find browsing through this Wiki article on Thanksgiving Day to be interesting. It mentions that this is celebrated primarily in Canada and the United States.

The fact that it isn't a holiday in Spanish speaking countries is probably why most of the Hispanics in my area call it "Día de pavo." LOL

Neither In México.

You can find some references to it in some stores along the border cities, but just to attract American customers. wink

It's a US tradition. We do not celebrate it in Argentina.
