Meaning of "cervera"

I believe the usual meaning is the "place of stags" but I would like to know the exact meaning in the following phrase. It is from "El otro árbol de Guernica"

Pensó: "Y acaso un día cualquiera, en un bombardeo de los aviones o del cervera, o tal vez hoy mismo, cuando nosotros nos hayamos ido".

Might it refer to the type of "crucero ligero" belonging to the Spanish fleet named after el Almirante Cervera y Topete? Weren't there "cerveras" used during the Civil War?

Maybe Wikipedia would have more info?

Nice thought but Wikipedia draws a blank on the word. That doesn´t mean you aren´t correct. Lets see if anyone else pitches in. No good asking heidi, she´s far, far, far, too young.
