"I have my glasses on" or "I wear glasses"

"I have my glasses on" or "I wear glasses"

“I have my glasses on” or “I wear glasses”.

I know I have to use one verb or another depending on the situation. But, I am not sure when I must use one or another. When do I have to use them? Is the situation correct in every sentence?

I have (my) glasses on = ¿tengo mis gafas puestas? ¿at the moment when I am talking about?. Must I use “my” or not? Or, can I put them in the two ways, with "my" or without "my"?

I wear glasses = ¿llevo gafas? (is it the same as “I usually wear glasses"? – because I need them, it is supposed).

Thank you.

"I wear glasses." Is a general statement indicating that it is necessary for you to wear glasses.

"I have my glasses on." Could be used to say something like. "I can read better when I have my glasses on.", etc.

"I have glasses on." This is correct, although this probably does not need to be said unless the person you are talking to is on the phone, etc. and can not see that you have your glasses on.

"I have glasses on." This is grammatically correct, but most people use "my" when referring to their own glasses. I'm not sure why, they just do.

Thankfully, I don't need glasses and never need these phrases because I am always losing my sunglasses. If I had to continually buy and re-buy prescription glasses, I would be in the poor house. LOL

Be thankful, but don't be complacent. Wait until you hit 50 and it's time for bifocals. - 0074b507, Nov 12, 2009
I know that day will eventually arrive. I will just be thankful in the present and hope when I reach 50 there will be a computer chip in glasses so I can locate them more easily. - Nicole-B, Nov 12, 2009
I agree with Nicole's answers :-) - --Mariana--, Nov 14, 2009
Yeah, and if you're married and your husband continually loses or breaks his gafas, then he uses yours! - Lise-Laroche, Nov 14, 2009
