I know the opposite of simpático has the word simpático in it, but i think there is a prefix in it that means -un or -not or something like that.

The opposite is antipatico and put an acute accent on the second a because my keyboard doesn't have it. So if someone is not very nice you can describe him or her as "una persona antipatica" (and add the accent again). I MUST get a Spanish keyboard !

When you wrote this in our text editor, did you notice the accented letters at the bottom? - 0074b507, Nov 11, 2009
You can set up the keyboard you have for spanish characters. Paste this into your browser...http://www.spanishdict.com/answers/100808/how-to-type-spanish-letters- - aloshek, Nov 12, 2009

Just as a matter of interest you can also have desagradable.

Ser desagradable con alguien, ser antipático con alguien, both mean to be unpleasant to someone.

Is pesado less formal than antipatico? - shop4words, Nov 11, 2009
Second time I've seen pesago mean bad today. That's wierd because I automatically see heavy but I guess it means "lame" or something too - jeezzle, Nov 11, 2009
