When I listen to the audio of gruesa provided by your dictionary, I'm not sure if he is pronouncing the r in the word gruesa. Is the r pronounced? Thanks Pamela

Yes, it should be pronounced, although not as hard as a double RR as in "arriba". It is more of a rolling sound, milder.
