What is "¿Cómo es?" used for?

i completed lesson 2 of learning spanish lessons it's called personal description i faced a problem in Cómo es my question is what does it mean and using for is it mean what do you love or like or what do you look like

When you are speaking about personal descriptions the words ¿Cómo es? mean "What's he or she like?"

Is he tall? Is he friendly? Is she blonde?
