thanks for the response.

What I mean by that is how you would word it. I just nee an example between being and be.

EXAMPLE:

Pick up where I left off and being able to continue my job

Pick up where I left off and be able to continue my job.

Which sentences above is correct to say?

Gerunds, or verbs in the form ending in -ing, need helper verbs and cannot stand on their own. Using "to be" in its unconjugated form usually requires another verb as well.

I am able to do my job.

I want to be able to do my job.

I like being able to do my job.

If you put the second sentence in a wider context like:

I just want to pick up where I left off and be able to continue my job.

it'll look correct.

The first is definitely wrong. "I was working at the factory when I slipped out for a drink. I hope I can pick up were I left off and be able to continue my job without anyone noticing that I was gone." It's better than the first sentence but it still strikes me as wrong. It should say "Pick up where I left off and be able to continue to do my job." Without that extra part in the sentence it sounds wrong.

I would go with number 2.
