Can our mailboxes "fill up" and then PMs not function?

I sent a PM this morning and happened to notice it didn't go through. Looking back at my "Sent" mail, I see that a lot of messages I've thought I sent in the past few days aren't there. And a few of them I worked very hard to write!

I tried it a few more times, and it just wasn't working.

I had about 100 messages in my outbox. I deleted a few, which is a pain as it is 1 at a time and it defaults back to the Inbox after each one. But after deleteg a few I could send again.

I apologize to my friends who may have expected PMs from me in the past few days. And wonder if anyone else has had these problems?

Hi Goyo,

I haven't had a problem, but I am approaching the same number of messages that you had. So thanks, I will start deleting just in case.

I hope you get the problem fixed. It is so frustrating when you spend time putting together an email or message for someone, only to have it lost or deleted. I speak from experience.

HI goyo, this is what Chris said:

The PMs should not have a limit. You do have to have at least 10 reputation before you can send PMs though.

so I have no idea why your PMs do not work, sorryconfused

I don't think so, but try deleting old mail anyway. I have never had that problem.

I don't use that service on this site. After receiving a couple of overly personal queries, I blocked it.

HI Carlo, I am sorry you had this experience on this site, which we try to keep as friendly as possible.

However, keep in mind that not even admins can contact you if you block messages. Why not send me one and tell me your problem?

This depends on the mail program you're using, I suppose. But deleting emails in Apple Mail has become a morning routine with me. And it really doesn't take much time. I just run down through the list with my finger poised over the delete key.

Also, my internet provider, Earthlink.net, makes it easy to block spam. But that's another story.
