Does anyone know any good jokes about learning Spanish that are also instructive? I once heard one about this Mexican lady that went into a department store, speaking only Spanish, saying she wanted to to buy some socks. The man takes her all through the store showing her different things since he doesn't speak any Spanish. Finally they get to the socks and she says " ¡eso si que es!" and the guy in the store says "well, why didn't you spell it in the first place?" Thanks to all who post and/or edit this post. I know it's not that great a joke, but the el Mexicano that told it to me thought it was just super funny and I will never forget that phrase...

It got a chuckle outta me.

Also, I can easily picture the fellow that told it to you laughing too much about it: that got another chuckle as well.

I can't imagine there are too many jokes that work like that, though.

I hope that mortimerfran won't feel offended for using his idea, but I love the joke he posted in some other thread:

What is the one word a Spaniard with a lisp can pronounce correctly?

¿Cuál es la única palabra de un español con un ceceo puede pronunciar correctamente?

Answer: Ceceo
