I have checked the threads already and there wasn't much in them. I would like to learn a few so I can practice on my guitar before my grandbaby is born.

I'll head over to Amazon.com and check also.

Thanks.

I just remembered that Steve Green has a whole CD of Bible verses set to music for kids. There is a Spanish version because he was a missionary kid who grew up in Argentina. I've used those songs for years when my kids were little. I just used some again in the DR. I think I told you about "Todo lo Puedo en Cristo".

Anyway, I know you can download the whole CD from Itunes, which is what I did. Also, the song book is available on Amazon. There is even a video that goes along with it. If you are not interested in this now, I would definitely check into it when he is around one or two years old. (It is a chico right?) My apologies if it is a little girl.

Hope this helps.

It isn't a lullaby, but I love this song:

Tengo, Tengo, Tengo Tú tienes nada Tengo tres ovejas en una cabaña

Un me da leche un me da crema un _________revueltos (it does cirles) todos los días.

Does anybody know that line??

I don't know much (anything) about Spanish lullabies, but let me know if you need the music or chord progressions written out. That I can do. I can put it into any key that is comfortable for you.

Wow, that's an awesome offer to help! - --Mariana--, Oct 29, 2009
Thank you. If I can hear it and it's not to complicated I can usually get the chord progression, but you know us lead players...... Al we want to do is drop some cover after a line or a riff before the chorus.... :) - Seitheach, Oct 29, 2009
Great, I'm glad you can do it. But if you get too busy, I'm here. It will be my gift to the little guy. - Nicole-B, Oct 29, 2009
I will remember that. for one thing I can't hear a 7 versus a major or a 9 versus a minor. - Seitheach, Oct 29, 2009
Well the 7 is a little bit brighter, but I would't recognize it if a major sounds right. - Seitheach, Oct 29, 2009
There are ways of training the ear to do that. But for the most part, I think using a piano is helpful in knowing what chord to use. It is much more easy to see visually and I think a little easier to differentiate subtlties in sound than a guitar is. - Nicole-B, Oct 29, 2009
My one and only flashcard set is musical terminology. Heidi did point out one mistake with an augmented chord, which I still need to change. I would defintely like to expand that set when I get a chance. - Nicole-B, Oct 29, 2009
I will have to check that out. - Seitheach, Oct 29, 2009
I learned how to play Fur Elise on the guitar from knowing it on piano. And to answer your next question. No. I don't play piano. I started until I got a guitar. - Seitheach, Oct 29, 2009
That seems like a very difficult song to play on guitar, you must be pretty good. I don't play guitar, my son does. I absolutely love the sound of Spanish guitar or flamenco guitar, but don't think I'll learn it in this life time. - Nicole-B, Oct 29, 2009
I actually blues it up after it gets going. The Entertainer by Scott Joplin is difficult! - Seitheach, Oct 29, 2009

Well, this one is for when they don't feel good, but I know Mexicans always use this one as a comfort song. The english translation is really stupid though jaja. It's almost the spanish equivalent to "go to sleep, go to sleep".

"Sana, Sana, sana culita de rana, si no sanas hoy sanaras manana."

It literally means, "Heal, heal, heal little frog tail, and if you do not heal today, you will heal tomorrow."

Hmm, I'm ashamed to say this as a musician...but no, not off the top of my head I don't...if I see one, I'll post it. =) And yes, this has been made a classic. - DJ_Huero, Oct 29, 2009
I bet I could google it and find the chords. - Seitheach, Oct 29, 2009

I don't know why I didn't think of Youtube. That's great. - Seitheach, Oct 29, 2009
I use it quite often when I prepare for my lessons with kids and need a song, a piece of film connected with the topic - Issabela, Oct 29, 2009
And my favourite - "Sesame street" for teaching alphabet, numbers or just for fun :) - Issabela, Oct 29, 2009

I found a bunch on Amazon.com. In the mp3 download section I had to type in Spanish lullabies.
