When someone edits someone else's post.
It would be sometimes helpful to see why a post was edited by a third person. I have seen that Valerie does this by adding a comment.

Hi Mortimer, we try to do that by comment. Most of the times it is category, spelling or unclear posts or questions.
The edit function give to forers with high reputation is extremely helpful for the site as many people help out keeping the forum a nice and friendly place to be. 
Rude and offensive posts are immediately deleted and flagged.

I always add a comment if I edit a regular member's post because they are going to want to know why I edited and what's been done.
However, I edit dozens of posts during the day for capitalization and creating a proper title. These are almost always from the newest members with 0-0-0 beside their name. For those, I generally put my "please be aware that proper spelling is required on the forum" in the comment section. If I simply change the title to something appropriate (it must have key words for later searches) or change the category, I usually don't make a comment. I don't think those poster really care why I do the editing.

On a personal note, that is part of my learning process. I enjoy seeing why somebody has edited a post or even my post.

Thank you for pointing this out. A lot of times when I edit a post, I don't want to make a big deal about explaining the mistakes I've corrected. I guess I felt like I was embarrassing the person. This is especially true when I edit something from a regular member, especially if they hardly ever make mistakes. But now that I see how Marianne does it, I am questioning my reasoning.
As mentioned, some are just so bad that you do have to warn about using proper spelling, grammar and capitalization. These are usually people who are asking for homework help or who have never been on the forum before. The reason I make mention then, is that it is a good time to remind all new members that this is a learning site. No one can learn English or Spanish if everything is misspelled or improper grammar is used.
You have given me a lot to think about. I hope some of the regular members chime in on this. I really would like to know what they prefer. By the way, since you would like to see why something is edited, I will let you know on your posts. However, by the posts I've read already, I don't think any corrections will be needed. 
I would like to know what is being edited so that I can see where I am making mistakes You may change something as simple as a typo or capitalizing problem, but if I am making that mistake, I want to make sure I am not doing it continually Right Heidita jejeje
