The marking of a post as "closed".
When a post is closed, is it not possible to mark the front page with "Closed", to save the bother of clicking on that particular post?

I know you said it wouldn't be easy to mark a post "closed", but, could you consider editing the question to add "Post Closed" to the end of the title. That would show in the question listing. Then, close the post.
It means more work for you, but the post is still searchabe to others. Also, others will know not to waste their time unless the subject catches their eye for learning purposes.
It's just a thought. Please don't shoot the messenger.

I don't mind those few extra clicks. I find that it rounds out my work out regimen!! ![]()

I am boosting up the thread to show people why I am writing "thread closed" on some threads.
Good suggestion, mortimer, moe.....![]()
This was suggested before, but cannot be done easily. We do not often close threads.
I don't see why not. It does always irritate me when I click on a post to answer it and then I can't because it is closed.
