I've been trying to learn for about a month or so... not really trying but picking it up from Hispanic friends. What's the quickest way to actually learn?

Andrew, please note that it is mandatory on this forum to use correct punctuation and capitalization in your posts. Thanks! - --Mariana--, OCT 26, 2009

I used to make a list of words I needed to learn and wrote them out five or ten times each. The flashcards here on spanishdict.com are a much better way of doing that. You can see, hear, and type the words branding them into your memory much faster.

You can also check out children's books in Spanish for free at your local library.

For verb conjugation, you may want to memorize the different tenses by writing them out several times. Many of the verbs are conjugated in the same way, so if you learn one, several others will be very similar.

No language is easy to learn. The easiest way I know is to read children's books in Spanish. You can look up the words you don't know in a Spanish / English dictionary.

Hi. I agree that this is a great website. However, I do use other methods. I listen to an audio program in my car and well as this on-line program. I also have a Spanish grammar book that has exercises. And as much as possible , I talk to Spanish-speaking - cheryl-locke, OCT 26, 2009
