a synonym needed, for 'a large group'

Is there a spanish equivalent to 'en masse', a widly used (in english) french phrase.

"en masse" is simple enough to translate to Spanish as they are both rooted in Latin. In Spanish you would simply say "en masa"

In English it means something like "as a group/whole." and you could also probably use something like "en conjunto" to get the same meaning but not necessarily the same effect.

I'm a native english speaker and i've never heard 'en masse', but a crowd is "una muchedumbre" or you can say "las masas" to refer to the masses of people. To say there were a ton of people you could say "Había mogollón de gente"
